The bells were formally hung in All Saints Church Colchester and were quite unringable. It was through the efforts of the late Harry Millatt and the then Bishop of Colchester, the Right Rev J Narborough, that these bells were saved from going in the pot when All Saints became the natural history Museum. They were transferred to Little Horkesley, where they were hung in a new frame with all new fittings, by Mears & Stainbank, upon the completion of the rebuilding of the Church in 1958. |
