Ringing Centres
The Association has two Central Council approved Ringing Centres in its area:
- Prittlewell in the Southern District which hosts a regular Saturday ringing school for applicants via the local Adult Education Centre.
- Coggeshall in the Northern District which offers a range of facilities as outlined below.
- An 'Abel' simulator allows silent practice on the bells, and a separate lecture room is situated on the floor below the ringing chamber, thus allowing 'chalk and talk' and practical exercises to run concurrently. Handbells are available, as are toilets and kitchen facilities. The Centre has Central Council recognition, and has received a Founders Company Grant.
- To assist with your training needs the Centre can be booked by any Tower, District or Ringing Group both within and outside Essex. The Centre is in contact with a number of Tutors experienced in teaching all aspects of ringing and related topics, and we are happy to run training sessions tailored to your particular requirements. To discuss your requirements please contact us by phone or e-mail. There is a charge of £10/hour per group to cover expenses.
