SUM ROSA PULSATA MUNDI MARIA VOCATA (in Old English script)

There were certainly two, probably three bells in the tower at the Reformation,1553. In 1675 they were augmented to six, and in 1892 two additional trebles were added making a ring of eight, and also a new wooden frame installed by Bowell. In 1955 the peal was restored by John Taylor & Co of Loughborough, who recast all but the third and the tenor. When the bells were away at the foundry, the frame was treated with two coats of preservative. There is also a set of of eight musical handbells which have been here for at least 60 years.
